The BC Ministry of Education defines the Course Plan as follows:
A document for each course that provides links to learning outcomes, performance standards, required resources, and assessment strategies. Examples include course outlines, syllabi, and instructional designs.
A learning activity1 is a teacher prescribed scenario2 that communicates to a learner how to use a set of learning objects3 to meet the targeted learning outcome4.
1: Learning activities are parts of a larger learning unit and can be built of smaller learning activities in the form of questions, various readings, videos, animations and diagrams.
2: A scenario is a set of logically connected steps.
3: Learning objects are resources normally made available to students within the Moodle environment.
4: Learning outcomes in the curriculum do not represent equal learning achievement; a learner may have to undertake many or few activities to meet a single learning outcome. So the teacher must use best judgment and knowledge of the course to determine what portion of the course to assign a given learning activity.
